One Day in Udaipur

The last destination of the week-long solo trip was The City of Lakes, Udaipur. Similar to all bus rides I reached early even here. This time I reached at 4 o’clock in the morning, everything was either opening or closed. Thought of spending an hour at the railway station having breakfast and relaxing before the busy day ahead.

Places to see in Udaipur:

The first stop was to visit the most beautiful lake in Udaipur Lake Fatesagar, Spent the morning watching the sunset and enjoying the climate and the early morning atmosphere at the lake. After visiting the lake, I walked to The beautiful garden known as Saheliyon ki Baari. The garden had different types of fountains it is said that they work without any motors. The garden is beautiful and you can spend some time enjoying the various plants and fountains there.

A rickshaw ride later I reached the must-watch place in Udaipur the City Palace. With an entry fee of Rs 300, the place isn’t that great with so many museums and palaces already visited in Rajasthan except for some beautiful rooms it had nothing new to offer. After spending an hour or two here, I took a small lunch break at a local restaurant. After some Pizza and pasta, the last two places were left one the Karni Mata temple and the other Lake Pichola.

I needed to complete these places fast as I had to reach the airport by 5.I took a Rickshaw to the Karni Mata temple which can be reached either by using a ropeway or you can walk all the way to the top using the stairs. I took the ropeway as I was short on time. The temple offers a good 360-degree view of the whole city especially the view of Lake Pichola. There was nothing much to do here other than clicking a few pictures. So took the next ropeway back to the base.

I then started walking to Lake Pichola where I was to end the day and the trip with a Boat Ride in Lake Pichola it costs around Rs 200 and gives you a round of the whole lake, but they wait for 10 people so the wait can be long sometimes. But as luck would have it in no time 10 people gathered on the boat ride started. The boat-ride lasts for 20 mins but it’s a fun thing to do.

After the boat ride, I was told that buses leave for the Airport from the market area, So I went there but wasn’t able to find anything so booked an OLA for Rs 300 and left for the airport. The Airport is a good 45 mins away from the city so plan your travel accordingly. Finally reached the airport completed the processes and waited for the flight.

Boarded the flight to Mumbai waiting for it to take off and thus ending my first solo trip after long to the city of Maharajas and Deserts Rajasthan. Finally reached Mumbai in two hours with awesome memories and experiences.

Now waiting for the next trip to happen and take me someplace new. Till then happy traveling.
