Bhimashankar:

Ladder 3 Bhimashankar

Bhimashankar is located near Mumbai and it is one of the best treks to be done in monsoon, you get to see the beautiful flora and fauna and also the gushing waterfalls and streams on the way. There are two ways to complete the trek one is a difficult route known as Sidi ghat and another Ganesh Galli. First timers are advised to go by the Ganesh Galli route as it is much easier compared to the Sidi Ghat route.

Prabalgad

Prabalgad Fort is located near Panvel at an elevation of 2300 feet. It is a 3-hour hike from the base village of to the plateau from where you can either go to Prabalgad or the Kalavantin fort. Prabalgad trek is a trek through thick forests and it takes 3 hours to reach the top and provides an awesome view of the Kalavantin fort from the top. It is advised to get a guide for this trek as you can get lost in the forest.

Kalavantin is s located near Panvel and a one-hour steep climb from the plateau of prabalmachi. There are steps to the top but as the steps are big and the climb being steep it is not advisable for beginners to do it during heavy rains as it can tend to become slippery.

Korigadh is a fort located about 20 km away from Lonavala near the small village of Pethshahpur. It is an easy place to go trekking and good for first-time trekkers. The places to visit on the top would be the two lakes and the small temple. The fort also provides a beautiful view of the amby valley below.

Lohagadh top

Lohagad is situated close to Lonavala, Lohagad rises to an elevation of 1,033 m above sea level. It is one of the forts in which the fortifications are still intact. A good place to go trekking and enjoy the fort. There are also caves you can visit on the way to the fort and if you have an extra day or so can visit another fort that is nearby the Visapur Fort.
