Aurangabad: Bibi Ka Maqbara

The last trip of the year took us to the beautiful city of Aurangabad also known as the City of Gates. We planned a three-day visit to this beautiful city visiting the Bibi ka Maqbara, Ellora Caves and the Lonar lake.

First day in Aurangabad:

As soon as we landed at the Aurangabad Station we immediately opened the Goibibo app and started looking for a place to stay. We Sorted the Hotels from Low to High and the first name that popped up was Guru Guest House. It was an only Boys hostel. The hostel cost us Rs 350 per day and had clean washrooms, WiFi, After that we took a rickshaw to the place Checked In, freshened up and left for our first Destination Bibi Ka Maqbara.

Bibi ka Maqbara and Aurangabad Caves:

We had lunch at Ashoka Restaurant before heading to the Maqbara. After lunch, we caught a rickshaw and headed to the maqbara. It took us around 15mins to reach the Maqbara from the Aurangabad City. Cost of the Rickshaw Rs 60. We got the Maqbara tickets for Rs 25, the maqbara was crowded because of the Christmas holidays. After an hour of exploring the maqbara we headed to our next destination Aurangabad Caves.

The Aurangabad Caves are another 20 minutes from the Bibi Ka Maqbara. We came out of the maqbara and caught another rickshaw to the Caves. The Caves are built in the Basalt Rocks and give a beautiful view of the Aurangabad City. It has three Sections and takes around an hour to explore. We Explored the caves then we started walking towards the Aurangabad City. We walked for 5 km to reach Aurangabad. Therefore we got to see the whole of Aurangabad in the night.

After the 5km walk, we ended our day at Smile Restaurant where we had dinner and prepared for the next day. Where we would be visiting the Ellora Caves and Dalutabad Fort.

How to Reach:

We took the early Morning Tapovan Express to Reach Aurangabad. We can also go by an overnight Bus or take a Private Car or Cab to Aurangabad.
